Grocery Shopping {FROM HOME}

Ok, for the last month or so, I have not gone grocery shopping in a store - say for a very few items here and there. Walmart's Grocery Pickup has been a TOTAL game changer for me and how I run my circu---s I mean house!! It is SO super simple, helps me save a TON of money and I usually get $10 off when I use my referral code! Ummm... YES PLEASE! All I can say is I'm SO happy that this service made its way into our little town {enter happy dance here}. If this service is available in your area, let me show you how incredibly simple it is!

So every Sunday afternoon, I set up a menu for our family. It's going to be a busy week because it's Thanksgiving week and we're hosting a big family feast at our house! I basically always log on to Pinterest to find all of our recipes - especially for all of my Keto meals/snacks that I make.

Then, whatever sounds good, for dinner, I find a good day for each meal - if it's supposed to be cold, I'll make a soup or stew, if it's planning to be a warmer day, or a busy day, I'll find something easy and light to cook, etc.

After I create the menu, I go into the recipes for each one and find the ingredients and create a grocery list.

Now, it's time to head over to the Walmart Grocery website!

From here, literally all you have to do is type the groceries you want into the search bar. You can even filter the search so it shows the cheapest to the most expensive versions of the products you need - so that helps save SOO much money! Make sure you check the sizes of each item, just so you're getting the size you want.

Once you've gone through your grocery list, you can go to the check out page. It will ask you which items it's ok to substitute in the case that there's items that are out of stock. If you don't want something substituted, make sure you uncheck it - because once, I ordered Diet Pepsi and the substituted for regular Pepsi. I can't have sugar on a Keto diet (or as a gastric bypass patient), and no one else wants soda in my house... so... that was a waste. They are really good at following what you don't want to substitute vs. what you do want substituted. If you uncheck it and they don't have it, they just won't get it for you. At pick up, your personal shopper will let you know what was substituted and what was not available (you'll also get an email with that list as well).

Continue to your checkout, and choose the date and time that you want your pickup. It does take several hours, so just keep that in mind. Also, if you grocery shop online in the later afternoon/evening, it's likely that a pickup time won't be available until the next day. I chose mine for 4-5pm the same day. Also, you can choose if you want to get bags or not. Now... we wait until they're ready for me to come and get my order.

If you don't have it already, now is a good time to download the Walmart Grocery app to your smart phone. Make sure you use the same email address that you used to checkout when you're logging into the app. You'll get an email to let you know that your order is ready, but you'll also get an app alert if you have the app. Oh lookie here! My order is now ready!

So, off to my local Walmart I go! When I leave my house, I check in on the app and it tracks me via GPS to let them know I'm on my way. And don't forget your reusable bags! Your personal shopper will bag your groceries for you before loading them into your car.

Our Walmart just finished this fancy pickup section. When you get here, your app will know and it will ask you which spot you're in and what color your car is.

Then, the personal shopper comes out with your groceries, and will ask you your name, tell you about any substitutions or cancelled items and have you sign off on the order. Then, you tell them where you want the groceries and they'll put them away for you and let you know when they're done. They'll close you up and send you on your way.

BOOM. That easy. Some may say it's lazy... I say it's MAGICAL! I would spend like 1-1.5 or even 2 hours grocery shopping before... now it takes me like 30 minutes to load my online shopping cart and pick everything up. Now, I have more time to spend with my family on the weekends and not have to worry about working my weekly grocery shopping trip into my already busy schedule. I did mention that it's completely FREE right? Um yeah. Magic!

Also, you don't have to just get groceries. You can get really anything they have at Walmart - as long as your online shopping cart totals over $30. Going into Walmart pretty much drives me nuts... but I have to admit, I do love the prices, so I will brave it and go in. But Walmart Grocery Pickup. GAME. CHANGER.

Remember to get $10 off your first order here!
