School Closure Daily Schedule
As many of the schools across the country began doing, our district decided it was best to close down until at least the beginning of April to help flatten the curve of this crazy COVID-19 pandemic. I fully endorse it, I'd rather just keep my family in a bubble and wait for this thing to pass over... (PS wouldn't it be nice if we could just mark our houses and the virus just completely skipped our household like in the days of Moses??) Well.... since that's not an option, we're going to practice social distancing as much as we can and participate in yielding this monster.
I was browsing Facebook and I came across a chart of things to do with your school-aged children to keep their brains engaged during this extended break. I work from home, so it's not always easy for me to keep to a schedule with them when they are here, so I think having a checklist of things that both they and I can read to know what to do next is going to be very helpful.
So click the schedule below, print it out, stick it on your fridge (or anywhere else everyone can have access to it) and enjoy this time together as we help this country fight this disease!
Note: I know not everyone has the luxury of being a stay at home/work at home parent. This is going to be a difficult time for a large portion of our country as many parents depend on school doubling as childcare and/or a source for their child to receive proper meals. I will do the best that I can to help where I can as long as I'm still able to help provide for my family as well in this time of need. Please let me know if or how I can help.
